About the Book

The series of books entitled Mathematics Lab Activities with Record Book for Classes 11 and 12 has been developed in strict accordance with the latest syllabus prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The series has been revised as per the rationalized syllabus and it also fulfils the requirements of NEP 2020.
While preparing these books, guidelines of the CBSE has been taken care of. As per the CBSE, 10 marks (out of 100) have been allotted to Maths Activities. Also, the activities given in these books are based on the guidelines provided by the CBSE. The main objective of these activities is to make the teaching-learning process of Mathematics int.eresting, enjoyable and result-oriented. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also suggests that the learning of Mathematics should be activity-oriented and every school must have a Mathematics laboratory to fulfill the above objective. The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) also lays emphasis on activity-oriented learning and recommends that teaching of Mathematics should aim to help students realise that Mathematics as a discipline relat.es to our experiences and is used in our daily life.
Learning Mathematics by classroom method sends a message that it is a set of rules and operations to be learned by heart and has no use in daily life. The learning-by-doing method disproves the above message. Going through the activities given in these books will enhance the truthfulness of the statement that learning by doing method of teaching Mathematics helps children understand mathematical concepts and apply them in related situations.
