About the Book

Core Geography Map Workbook for class IX has been prepared as per the latest syllabus prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. It is an established fact that maps are an indispensible reference tool not only for a geographer but even for the layman. Maps are used today to understand a world which is shrinking every moment and distances have no meaning. Thus, the importance of map awareness cannot be denied.
Our book, Core Geography Map Workbook, initiates the students to a world of maps and teaches them to read, interpret, locate and mark places, physical features and divisions, both physical and political, on outline maps available for them in the map book. It also helps them to understand important concepts and terms used for map reading and marking. Certain activities given in the section ‘interpreting maps’ help the student to measure actual distances and heights of places with the help of maps.
