About the Book

   In an attempt to enrich our students with programming skills, we have come out with the book ICSE
   Computer Applications (Java under BlueJ)'. This book deals with the language Java. The book is
   full of screenshots and illustrations to let the student study the subject in the most practical way
   possible. Tapter he features of the book are:

> ChHighlights: Sets out goals to be achieved by the end of the chapter.
> Fact to Know: A useful fact that will help the students in his/her learning.
> Key Features: A pointwise summary of the chapter.
   CISCE has provided taggings in its latest specimen paper to tag questions with Recall,
   Application, Understanding, Analysis, Create, Evaluate and Concept, which we have also used to
   tag our questions. The exercises part has a lot of features like:
> The usual variety of MCOs, Fill ups and Short Answer questions are present.
> Practical Oriented questions to test whether the student can practically apply the concepts learnt.
> Past question papers set by CISCE are included.
> Competency-focused practice questions as provided by CISCE have been included in the book
   chapterwise.

   Some select few questions under the heading of Chapter Exercises are provided with no solutions.
   Book also contains a unique Revision through Visualization in whichever chapter it is relevant. A
   chart is given that summarises the chapter in an easy way.

   At the very end of the book, an ICSE Specimen Paper and three Model Test Papers are provided.
   The solutions to the specimen paper and model test papers is provided through OR codes.
   There are also video lectures provided with the book in order to let the students learn in a more
   hands on way than just from the book. Video lectures can be accessed by scanning the OR code
   put at the top of the chapter for every chapter.
   A set of online support resources are also available which can be accessed through the MERIT BOX
   app. Model test papers, e-book, Test paper generators and Teacher's Resource Book is available
   with this book.
