About the Book

The series Core Composite Mathematics for Classes VI, VII and VIII
has been revised strictly in accordance with the latest syllabi prescribed by
NCERT. The contents of the books have been so arranged to help the students
attain learning outcomes prescribed for each class. Efforts have been made to
lay emphasis on language, nature of description, observing patterns and their
generalisation, continuity of presentation within a chapter and across the
chapters. Special stress has been laid on the presentation of the subject matter
to give clear and comprehensive ideas about new concepts with well structured
and logical examples.
Salient Features of the Series
 Strictly in accordance with the latest syllabi prescribed by NCERT.
 Simple and lucid language has been used, keeping in mind the vocabulary
of the students.
 Special approach has been used while presenting different topics, to make
learning a continuous process.
 Appropriate illustrations have been given to help in visualisation of abstract
mathematical concepts.
 A large number of different types of solved examples followed by exercises
containing all types of questions for practice have been given in graded
form.
 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the beginning of each exercise.
 Miscellaneous Exercise at the end of the each chapter checks the
retention capacity and the level of understanding of the students.
 Mental Test in each chapter enhances the mathematical and calculation
skills of the students and fortifies the concepts learnt.
 Recapitulation at the end of each chapter gives a brief summary of the
concepts learnt in that chapter.
It is our earnest hope that the revised series will provide a new and meaningful
way of learning the subject and thereby make the whole process of understanding
mathematics a joyful experience. It will assist the teacher as a guide and
facilitator. However, suggestions and criticism, if any for the improvement of
the series would be highly appreciated.
