About the Book

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, has introduced the new syllabus in the subject of Commerce for Class XL The present book has been written according to the latest syllabus prescribed by the ISC Examination in the subject of Commerce and follows the most modem teaching methods. Some of the salient features of this book are :
• The Syllabus for ISC Commerce-XI has been divided into two Papers: Paper I-Theory (80 marks) Paper II- Project work (20 marks)
• Learning objectives' have been given at the beginning of each chapter so that the students know beforehand what they will learn after studying of each chapter.
• The Tool-kit and Key points to Remember, given in each chapter, help students focus on key information and definitions.
• A Summary of the Chapter has been given at the end of each chapter to enable the student to quickly revise before the examination.
• Project work has been given which will help students in gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
• The treatment of the subject is simple as well as exhaustive. Use of Diagrams, tables and boxes have been used to make the subject self-explanatory.
• This book includes Competency Focused Questions in the Multiple Choice Section, covering Assertion Reason, Statement Based, Scenario Based Questions to help students prepare for the latest exam pattern.
• To make the subject more interesting, commerce has been explained in accordance with the latest techniques of commerce education.
• Besides the distinctive features of the book, such its errorless printing, general getup and all-round accuracy, all efforts have been made to make the book beneficial and interesting for the students. In the course of my long teaching experience, I have observed the difficulties faced by the students in thorough understanding of the subject. An attempt has been made in this book to present the subject matter in such a way that the students not only understand the subject but also develop an interest in the subject.
