About the Book

The series of books entitled Mathematics Enrichment Lab Activities for Classes VI to X has been developed in strict accordance with the latest syllabus prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. While preparing these books, guidelines of the latest Scheme of Assessment have been carefully followed.

Further, the book for Class 7 in this series has been made compatible with the latest NCERT textbooks (Ganita Prakash), thereby fulfilling the requirements of NEP 2020 and NCF 2023. The main objective of these activities is to make the teaching-learning process of Mathematics engaging, enjoyable, and result-oriented. The NEP 2020 and NCF 2023 also suggest that learning Mathematics should be activity-oriented, and every school must have a Mathematics laboratory to fulfill this objective.

The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) also emphasizes activity-oriented learning and recommends that teaching Mathematics should help students realize that Mathematics as a discipline relates to our experiences and is used in daily life. Learning Mathematics by the traditional classroom method sends a message that it is a set of rules and operations to be memorized and has limited application in real life. Learning by doing, through the activities given in these books, enhances the effectiveness of teaching and helps children understand mathematical concepts and apply them in related situations.
