By - Dr.Monika DewanMy Book of Physical Education and Well-being is a carefully organised series designed to inspire young learners to explore physical activity, develop their motor skills, and embrace well-being through yoga and games. Designed for students in Grades 3 to 8, this series aligns with the guidelines provided by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 as per NEP 2020.
In today’s world, movement is the key to a child’s overall development. This book focuses on improving coordination, fitness, and motor control, through engaging activities, laying the foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits. Every chapter is developed to support growth in body awareness, agility, and teamwork, which are essential in sports and everyday life.
This book consists of three main units: Unit 1 - Basic Motor Movements focus on enhancing basic motor skills like throwing, catching, kicking, and striking through fun activities and games, helping students build confidence in movement.
Unit 2 - Our Games explores traditional and global games like football and basketball, teaching teamwork, strategy, and fair play while making physical activity enjoyable for all.
Unit 3 - Yoga introduces yoga and mindfulness, helping children improve flexibility, strength, focus, and emotional balance through simple, calming practices.
We aim to give students a holistic understanding of physical education, incorporating movement, play, and mindfulness. With vibrant illustrations, easy-to-follow instructions, and plenty of opportunities for creativity, this
book encourages learners to explore the full range of their physical and mental capabilities. The content and activities included in this book promote physical health, mental well-being, and emotional and social connection.
This book promotes a spirit of participation, encouraging students to play safely, respect one another, and enjoy the learning process. We hope it sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and fosters a lifelong love of physical activity and mindfulness.
Let the journey of movement, play, and well-being begin!
