What is NIRF?
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) guides how institutions of higher learning are ranked in India. The framework was released in 2015 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed to the Ministry of Education in 2020.)
The methodology is based on the recommendation of the Core Committee set up by the MHRD. The committee identified some broad parameters to assign ranking to institutions.
