The Information Technology and its associated industries are growing at a fast pace in India. Apart from just the knowledge and skills related to work given, other soft skills play an important role in the life of a professional.
This book titled A Textbook of Information Technology for Class 9 [Subject Code: 402] fulfills all the needs and requirements of the latest Syllabus and Examination patterns prescribed by the CBSE. The book is aligned with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023.

As per the latest curriculum and examination pattern prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
The book is divided into three sections:
♦ PART A deals with the Employability Skills with chapter names Communication Skills-I, Self-management Skills-I, Basic ICT Skills-I, Entrepreneurial Skills-I and Green Skills-I. • PART B1 deals with the Subject Specific Skills with chapter on Introduction to IT-ITeS Industry and Data Entry and Keyboarding Skills.
• PART B2 deals with the Subject Specific Skills with chapters on Digital Documentation (Elementary), Electronic Spreadsheet (Elementary) and Digital Presentation. It has been given in three different software suites.
LibreOffice 6.2 has been used with Writer, Calc and Impress of the LibreOffice 6.2 suite. • MS Office 2010 has been used with Word, Excel and Power Point of the MS Office 2010 suite.
OpenOffice has been used with Writer, Calc and Impress of the Open Office 4.1.7 suite.
◆ PART C contains Three Model Test Papers based on the latest examination pattern (solutions through QR codes).
The chapters from Part A, B1 and B2 have been divided into the following parts:
(a) Introduction: It introduces you to the topic of the chapter. It also tells you what you will learn through the various topics covered in the chapter.
(b) Sessions: It contains relevant information on the session headings. The knowledge developed through sessions will enable you to perform certain activities.
(c) Self-Assessments: At the end of all topics under a session heading, self-assessment is included to evaluate the knowledge of the learners. It comprises multiple choice questions, answer the following questions and practical work.
(d) Exercise: At the end of each chapter, exercises are included to test the understanding of the matter read over the various topics. This section consists of MCQs, short answer questions (I), short answer questions (II), long answer questions and practical work.
